How to make Chris Hemsworth’s fave Chargrill Charlie’s salad at home

Chris Hemsworth and his personal trainer Luke Zocchi, were spotted grabbing a VERY delectable-looking salad from chicken chain Chargrill Charlie’s last week. So…in order to be able to eat like a Hemsworth, we decided to track down the vegetarian recipe from the salad creator, themselves.

It seems that the God of Thunder is quite the fan of Sydney chicken institution, Chargrill Charlie’s. Thor AKA Chris Hemsworth was recently spotted picking up *this* salad at the franchise’s Woollahra store with personal trainer Luke Zocchi. And honestly – it looks like a salad sent straight from the Heavens.

With rocket, grilled asparagus, roasted almonds, pickled onions, avocado and a vinaigrette dressing – this salad makes for a perfect vegetarian WFH lunch (or a post battle-of-the-gods dinner).

Chargrill Charlie’s rocket man salad

Prep: 10

Serves: 2



1 handful of rocket

1/2 iceberg lettuce

2 Lebanese cucumbers, thinly sliced

1 red onion, pickled

2 avocados

1/2 bunch of asparagus

1 handful of sliced almonds, toasted


splash of red wine vinegar

Dijon mustard, to taste

honey, to taste

olive oil, to taste

salt, to taste

pepper, to taste


1. Grill asparagus till charred.

2. Toss rocket, asparagus and cucumber together.

3. Add in iceberg lettuce.

4. Top with avocado, red onions and almonds.

5. Dress with a splash of red wine vinegar, olive oil, dijon and honey.
